OUR PROCESS

PHASE 1

Initial Design Consultation

Our first step is to meet with you on-site and see what we’re working with. Each project comes with its own unique attributes, needs and goals. After our meeting, we will begin to formulate a design proposal based on this site visit taking into account budget, hopes and dreams, peaks and valleys.

Design Proposal (SOW)

Our design proposal is the next stage of development. We’ll send you a digital file with design concepts including coordinated base map detail, functional spaces that will be sited and aligned, and plant companions to lay the bones of your landscape.

PHASE 2

Site Analysis

This begins the analytical part of our journey. We will identify the natural capital and energy flow on-site including sink and source, wildlife corridors, views, soil analysis, wind direction, and sun angles. Getting to know your property more intimately allows us to begin to understand how to identify the design constraints and advantages of your property. This is where we investigate how our clients want to live within their land.

Landscape Plan

The fun part. We build our designs based on our observations, and a detailed assessment of your property and goals. We like to spend time investigating how to create unique design features within climate-appropriate, regenerative design, integrating edible plants where possible, and marrying all the right ecological inputs to maximize the carrying capacity of your land. No matter the size of the project, we always plan for soil and pollinator health, attracting beneficial organisms from the smallest biology on up. We will provide one revision, if necessary between the preliminary and final design.

Planting Plan

After the design proposal has been accepted we will create a coded map representing a planting plan and an accompanied plant species list for further detail.

Final Design

The final design includes a master plan with a site specific planting plan and accompanying construction drawings. This may also include a refined planting, lighting, and irrigation plan.

PHASE 3

Build & Install

As we move from design to installation we will coordinate all aspects of the project from start to finish. We know that our participation is paramount to seeing the project through to completion and bringing the collective vision to life and highly recommend the design and installation be done in-house. An estimate is provided on account of the final design details, and materials are finalized. Once our contract is signed, we coordinate scheduling and begin building out the landscape.

CONSULTATIONS

We are happy to consult with you on projects at an hourly rate available upon request. Through this approach, we do not provide any drawings or planting plans, though we provide a digital summary with plant names and 3-5 photos detailing our discussion at an additional cost.
